After configuring your ClickView Home Manager following the steps provided in the section above – you are ready to enable ClickView Home Local Cache.
ClickView Home Local Cache allows user watching your ClickView Home videos from within your local school network to receive high-speed video streams directly from your ClickView Library Server. This enhances the user experience by providing instant chapter and resource downloads, reduces outgoing internet usage, and will not have an impact on your current ClickView Home viewing-hours quota.
If a student happens to access a video from outside the school’s network – the ClickView Home Player will simply download the video from ClickView’s web servers.
Once you have upgraded to ClickView 1.6.4.3 (or above), there are three simple steps involved to enable local caching.

- Enable Caching: Tick the ‘Enable Local Cache’ checkbox to instruct the ClickView Library Server to retain a copy of your ClickView Home video files after they are uploaded to the ClickView Home Servers.
- Fill Server Location Field: Type the IP address of your ClickView Library Server into the ‘Server Location’ box; this will be the network location from which local ClickView Home video requests will be served.
- Save Changes: Click the ‘Save Changes’ button to apply your settings and commence caching – note that this process will begin at the same time as your synchronization schedule. Please make sure you have plenty of free space on the hard disk where your ClickView data sits.
